New Library Catalog and Cook OneSearch Coming May 23rd
On May 23, 2024, Cook Library (along with 17 other university libraries across Maryland) will switch over to a new platform for the library’s catalog and single search, Cook OneSearch.
We’re making this change to replace our now 20+ year-old system with newer technology that provides streamlined workflows for staff, enhanced search and discovery features, and a more mobile-friendly user experience.

What does this mean for you?
- Orders: April 16 is last day for new item orders until July 1.
- Borrowing: Between May 17-23, physical items can’t be requested from other Maryland academic libraries. Access to our 400+ databases and Interlibrary Loan should not be impacted.
- Checking Permalinks: The old system goes away in June, so you will need to check any permalinks from the old system that are on your website, in your course syllabi, or in your Blackboard courses after May 23. Library staff will share instructions for how to update permalinks in the new system after May 23rd.
