Parking Information – President Inauguration VIP Event – April 5th
Towson University is honored to induct the 15th Towson University President, Dr. Mark Ginsberg, on Friday, April 5th at the TU arena from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. In conjunction with the ceremony and associated festivities, Lot 7, behind the arena, Lot 8, next to the Towson Center, and lot 6 across from the Field House, will be closed beginning 6 a.m. Friday April 5th. Vehicles parked in these designated areas must be cleared by 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 4th to prepare for the event.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Please follow posted road signage to the appropriate parking area.
- Parking lots 6, 7, and 8 will be reserved for event permit holders only. Parking for those without a special event permit, including TU faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors, will be available in lots 4 and 5. No parking permits will be required for these lots for the event.
- Accessible parking will be available in lot 8 for those with accessible placards or plates.
- Paratransit will be available for those with mobility issues who do not have an accessibility permit. Please notify the parking attendant when you arrive if you would like to use this service.
- Shuttle Transportation will be available from lots 4 & 5 to the lot 8 bus slip in front of the Towson Center.
- Regular TU shuttle service will not be impacted by the inauguration and will continue to operate on a normal schedule. Any unexpected impacts to the shuttle service will be communicated through com.
- Childcare pick-up and drop-off at the Childcare Center will still be available to parents and guardians.
Parking & Transportation Services will be on-site to direct traffic to available lots throughout the day. Please follow the directions of posted signs and staff.
