11th Baltimore Immigration Summit: Call for Presenters
11th Baltimore Immigration Summit: Call for Presenters
Don’t forget to mark your calendars! We are quickly approaching our submission deadline for BIS proposals. We’re looking for activists, service providers, policy makers, scholars, artists, and other Baltimore-based change-makers interested in becoming involved as panel presenters for the 11th Baltimore Immigration Summit!
The theme of this year’s summit is Empowered Immigrant Communities: Engaging, Sharing, and Growing Together. This year’s theme positions the Summit as an opportunity to learn about and celebrate empowered immigrant communities in our region.
Proposals for panels/workshops at the 11th Baltimore Immigration Summit are now open and will be accepted until February 16, 2024, at 5:00 PM.
Guidelines for proposals:
- Proposal themes should be relevant to the theme, “Empowered Immigrant Communities: Engaging, Sharing, and Growing Together.” Proposals should be focused on the local Baltimore (City and/or County) area.
- Activists, service providers, policy makers, scholars, clients, artists, and other Baltimore-based change-makers are all welcome as potential panelists.
- Include a title and brief (roughly 100 words) description of your proposed panel, workshop, or other interactive formats.
- No incomplete proposals would be considered (2-4 presenters). This means all participants must be identified and their contact information provided in the proposal.
- Individuals and organizations who have presented in prior years are more than welcome to submit proposals for this Summit. Please be sure that the proposal presents different material than has been presented in the past, however.
- We do not include panels that are solicitations or advertisements for businesses.
- Preference will be given to proposals that include immigrant/refugee representation, and that include presenters in multiple roles and/or from more than one organization/institution. For example, a service provider, scholar, and client from one organization, or representatives from two or more organizations working in collaboration.
