SGA Partners with The Hub: Donates Funds for 100+ Winter Coats to TU’s Tiger Threads Clothing Closet

The Student Government Association (SGA) recently donated money to The TU University Basic Needs Hub/Tiger Threads Clothing Closet to purchase winter coats for TU community members in need.

Tiger Threads, the university’s casual clothing closet, aims to alleviate financial burden and offer emergency support to community members dealing with clothing challenges.

Last semester, SGA supported Tiger Threads when they discovered the high demand for winter coats and hosted a successful campus-wide collection of gently used coats. The collected coats were swiftly distributed, prompting SGA to further assist The Hub by donating funds to The Hub for the purchase of brand-new coats in various sizes.

This new donation enabled the Tiger Threads Clothing Closet to purchase just over 100 new winter coats to give away for free to TU community members who need one. This will not only improve access to crucial items for TU community members who may need it, but it will also foster a sense of inclusivity.

Those in need of a winter coat should email thehub@towson.edu to schedule an appointment to receive one. Coats come in various sizes, are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis, and are limited to one per person.
