Winter Break – Time sheet instructions – Regular Exempt Staff, 12-month Faculty & Librarians
Towson University will be closed for winter break from December 25, 2023 through January 1, 2024.
Faculty and staff in departments which observe non-traditional work hours and schedules, or which perform essential functions, should discuss coverage with their supervisors.
Below is helpful information to assist you with completing your time sheet:
- You must be in an active, paid status to earn holiday leave.
- Holiday Leave (HLUSE) will be pre-loaded on the time sheet on Dec. 25, 26, and Jan. 1.
- You are required to use your available leave on Dec. 27, 28, and 29. Earned floating holiday hours are typically recorded on these three days.
- If floating holidays are not available, accrued annual leave (ALUSE) or personal leave (PLUSE) should be used. If you do not have available leave, you will record Leave Without Pay (LWOPU).
- If an employee does not normally work on a day in which a holiday falls, the employee will need to delete the HLUSE hours and leave the day blank.
- Holiday Leave is pro-rated to your FTE, not your schedule.
- Full-time employees earn 8 hours of HLUSE, regardless of work schedule.
- If you have questions about completing your time sheet, please email finservehelp@towson.edu.
- If you have questions about your available leave, please email leavebenefits@towson.edu.
