Time Sheet Instructions – Thanksgiving Holiday Regular Exempt / Non-Exempt Staff 12-month Faculty and Librarians
Towson University is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on:
Wednesday, November 22, 2023 (University Holiday)
Thursday, November 23, 2023 (State Holiday)
Friday, November 24, 2023 (State Holiday)
You must be in an active, paid status to earn any of the holidays.
Full-time exempt & non-exempt employees:
- Leave code HLUSE will be pre-populated for you by Payroll.
Staff in departments which observe non-traditional work hours and schedules, or which perform essential functions (24/7 operations), should discuss coverage with their supervisors.
- If you observe any of the holidays, use leave code
- If you are scheduled to work on any of the holidays, remove leave code HLUSE and replace it with pay code REG.
- If you work 10-hour shifts, you should not record more than 8 hours of HLUSE. You may use available annual or personal leave to record 10 hours of leave. If you record 10 hours of HLUSE, any floating holiday hours you have available will be deducted.
- If an employee does not normally work on a day in which a holiday falls, the employee/supervisor will need to remove the hours from that day and leave the day blank.
Less than Full-time employees:
- If you are less than 1.0 FTE, the HLUSE pay code will not be pre-populated.
- Your earned HLUSE hours equal your FTE (i.e., FTE .50 earn 4 hours of HLUSE). You should not record more HLUSE hours than your FTE.
If you have questions about completing your time sheet, please email finservehelp@towson.edu.
If you have questions about your leave, please email leavebenefits@towson.edu.
