Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) CoP Cohort
Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) allow many students to gain valuable research experience. CUREs have been shown to improve student retention and learning. They have also helped faculty advance their scholarship.
Faculty teaching CURE courses are supported during the development and teaching of the course: there is a $500 development stipend, regular meetings with the development support team, and a paid learning assistant for the course. Those selected for a CURE cohort will be expected to be active members of the CURE Community of Practice, attend monthly meetings to plan their courses, and discuss the progression of classes, exchange ideas about class execution and development, and participate in faculty assessments conducted by the program administrators.
