Today: Geography Awareness Week
Geography Awareness Week 2023
Wednesday, November 15th | 11:00am | Between LA4120 & LA4240
Each November, Geography Awareness Week celebrates all things Geography – the understanding of how our world works that all members of modern society require and the ability to reason about Earth systems and interconnections to make far-reaching decisions. This year, the theme is The Power of Place, and the Towson University community is invited to walk on the Big Maryland Map. The floor-size, immersive map allows for observation, exploration, and analysis while also situating Maryland within the Chesapeake Bay and global discourse. This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Geography and Environmental Planning, the TU Global Citizenship in Education Certificate Program, and the Maryland Geographic Alliance.
