Spend a semester in Hawaii… the happiest state!
With a year-round average temperature of 78°F, beautiful beaches and lush green landscapes, delicious spam musabi and loco moco, the most diverse population in the U.S., and a contagious Aloha Spirit, what’s not to love about Hawaii? It’s easy to see why studying away in Hawaii through the National Student Exchange program is so popular for students all over the United States! Fortunately, Towson University has a semester spot during the Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 semester for one lucky student to study at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa!
UHM is located in Honolulu on the island of Oahu, and the campus is only 20 minutes by bus from the internationally celebrated Waikiki area. As the leading indigenous-peoples-serving university in the country, UHM delivers a unique multicultural global experience in a Hawaiian place of learning, truly like nowhere else on earth. Distinctions include: Consistently ranked in the top 1.5% universities in the world; Internationally recognized research (land, sea, sun, and space-grant) University; Most diverse University with students (from all 50 states and 128 different countries) and faculty. Students must apply for NSE in Horizons by February 21, 2024 for priority placement during the 2024-2025 academic year. Only one spot at UHM is available for a TU student.
If you are interested in learning more about participating in the National Student Exchange program for a chance to study away in Hawaii or any of the other 50 states, we recommend that you join a virtual NSE info session to get started. Info sessions are held online once a week and review the basics of NSE (tuition, financial aid, course options, housing, and research tips). Interested students should also schedule an advising appointment with the NSE Coordinator after attending a Group Advising session. Questions? Email nse@towson.edu.
