Black Student Leadership Conference

THIS FRIDAY- Join the Center for Student Diversity in West Village Commons for meaningful conversation centered on the Black experience at TU!

This year’s theme, Black Resistance, recognizes the multiple layers of oppression Black folks experience and how those layers have penetrated everyday practices, beliefs, and social relations. At Towson, Black Resistance also recognizes the myriad ways in which students have found to survive, advance, and thrive as students and leaders of organizations. Workshops will critically examine and highlight the ways in which students who represent the African Diaspora have embodied Black Resistance on college campuses. By attending the session, students will be able to (1) name and acknowledge the power dynamics that exist to impede or assist their development, (2) identify tangible ways to build resiliency, moving them from a place of surviving to thriving, and (3) feel empowered to galvanize and create space for themselves and their community. David Wall Rice will serve as the keynote speaker.

ALL students are welcome and should feel comfortable attending whether this is your first conference or not!
