In the 18 months since ChatGPT and other generative AI tools became widely available, faculty have tried to negotiate with the pitfalls and promises of LLM applications in their classes and in their research. In this workshop discussion, we take stock of recent developments. These include new opportunities, new problems and new strategies: recently released AI tools, academic integrity issues, ethical problems, issues in accuracy as well as interesting applications of generative AI in classrooms and research. We’ll share our experiences and think about what teaching at Towson will mean in the months and years to come.
