Study Abroad in Ireland during Minimester 2024

Study abroad in Ireland and Northern Ireland with Towson University in January 2024!  Learn about the power of storytelling as a persuasive communication tool for advocating change, engaging differences, and leading with purpose. One of the earliest forms of communication, storytelling is an intrinsic part of Irish culture and heritage and characterizes the unique way the Irish approach life’s hardships – a bright spot in hard times.

Participants will spend time in DublinGalwayCounty Donegal, and Belfast. The program features guest lectures, a Black Taxi tour of the Peace Walls in Belfast, a day trip to Giant’s Causeway, visits to an historic Victorian-era prison, the Book of Kells at Trinity College, and much more.

Participants will take one of the following courses with Professor Audra McMullen for a total of 3 credits: COMM 494 Study Abroad; CLST 370 Topics in Cultural Studies; IDFA 470 Social Topics in Arts, Media, and Communication; or IDFA 690 Interdisciplinary Fine Arts Independent Study (grad students only).
