Lot Closures – Fall Move In 2023
It’s time to move in Tigers! Parking & Transportation Services and the entire TU community welcomes our resident students back to campus. Fall Move-In will take place from 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 23 through 5 p.m. Sunday, August 27.
Here’s what you need to know about upcoming lot closures. Please plan accordingly.
Union Garage
The Union Garage will not be used for fall move-in this year as Resident Tower A is under construction. However, the garage will be available for general parking.
West Village Area
- The third level of the West Village Garage will remain open, offering access to visitors and overflow parking spaces for those moving in. Signs will be posted to direct long-term permit resident holders to the upper levels of the garage.
- Lot 1 in front of Enrollment Services will close from 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 until 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. Please ensure all vehicles are removed during this time to avoid the need to relocate the vehicles at the owner’s expense to Pollards Towing Company. Alternate faculty/staff parking is available in the West Village Garage and the upper levels of the Union Garage. Those with mobility issues may request a Paratransit ride by calling 410-704-RIDE or emailing uride@towson.edu.
- Millennium Hall lots will not be used for fall TU move-in. As a reminder, Millennium Hall parking is restricted to those with a Millennium Hall permit. This lot is not managed by TU. Violators will be issued citations and may be towed.
Residence Tower & 10 West
- Lot 14 near the Health & Counseling Center will be closed from 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22 through Sunday, Aug. 27
- The 10 West garage (Lot 15) will be restricted to 10 West residents for unloading only from 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23 through 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. During this time, 10 West residents may park in the Core spaces on the upper levels of the Towsontown Garage.
Additional Move-In Information
In addition to lot closures, please see below for helpful information about what to expect for this year’s Fall Move-In.
- Cross Campus Drive will be designated for one-way traffic, westbound from York Road to Osler Drive, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 23 – through Friday Aug 25.
- Vehicles may only park in “Move-In” spaces for 15 minutes. A permit is not required to park in a “Move-In” space. A driver must remain with the vehicle and, after unloading, move the vehicle to an authorized Core, Overflow, or Resident space for which parking permits are required.
- The West Village walkway between Lot 1 and the West Village garage, will be open to vehicles for unloading from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23 through Sunday, Aug. 27. Please follow the directions of posted signs and on-duty staff members. Outside of these times, vehicles must be parked in an authorized space or temporarily use a designated “Move-In” space.
- At no time is any vehicle permitted to park in marked/designated fire lanes, in a roadway, on sidewalks, on grass, or in an otherwise reserved space, even for a few minutes. Violators will be issued citations and may be towed at the owner’s expense.
- Only authorized individuals displaying a state-issued accessible (handicapped) license plate/placard may park in an accessible space. Vehicles must have both the accessible license plate/placard and a valid TU parking permit to park in accessible spaces. Violators will be issued citations and may be towed at the owner’s expense.
- The Gold shuttle will be available for the fall semester beginning at 4 p.m. Monday Aug. 21. SafeRide is available from midnight to 7 a.m. and can be requested by calling 410-704-RIDE. Regular shuttle service for the fall will resume at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28.
