Education, Ethics, and Change in Thailand (Study Abroad Opportunity)
Discover Thailand with Towson University in Summer 2024! Study the nature of ethics, social justice, and critical social issues through an education lens. Gain an understanding of the Thai education system through school visits and compare and contrast approaches to ethics in teaching between the U.S. and Thailand.
Participants will spend time in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. Program highlights include a street food tour in Chiang Mai, a boat ride through Bangkok’s canals, and visits to the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha Temple, Wat Phra That Doi Suthepa, Ayutthaya, Pileh Bay, an elephant sanctuary, and more.
Participants will take one of the following courses for a total of 3 credits with Professors Ashley Lucas and Xiaoming Liu: SCED 304 Education, Ethics, and Change (3 credits, Core 14), ELED 494/594 Travel and Study in Elementary Education (3 credits), or SCED 494/594 Travel and Study in Secondary Education (3 credits).
