Bahamian Breeze: Cross-Cultural Psychology (Study Abroad Opportunity)

Explore cross-cultural psychology in the Caribbean in Summer 2024! Learn about human behavior and cognitive processes through the exploration of psychological theories, their application in the real-world, and how they are shaped by cultural variation. Examine the values, ideas, and practical applications of psychology in the United States and the Bahamas and observe psychological concepts first-hand through interactions with local residents, scholars, and students and guest lectures related to the local culture.

Program highlights include guest lectures by local experts, a walking tour of Nassau, visits to the National Art Gallery of The BahamasThe Bahamas Historical Society Museum, the Pompey Museum of Slavery and EmancipationFort Fincastle, Bimini Biological Field Station, and community engagement work with a local NGO.

Participants will take PSYC 494 Travel and Study Abroad in Psychology (3 credits) with Dr. Faizan Imtiaz.
