Office of Competitive Fellowships and Awards: Multiple Opportunities for STEM majors- Apply now!
Applicable to Undergraduate and Graduate Students
- The National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP): The National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and STEM education fields within NSF’s mission. The GRFP provides up to three years of support for the graduate education of individuals who have demonstrated their potential for significant achievements in science and engineering research. The GRFP supports over 100 subfields.
The GRFP encourages applications from underrepresented groups, including women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and veterans, to broaden and diversify those participating in science and engineering.
Graduate fields that will be funded are: Life Sciences, Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Materials Research, Psychology, Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences, STEM Education and Learning, Engineering, Chemistry, Geosciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy
What should students do? Students who would like to apply and receive feedback on their application material should email Dr. Devadas at tucfa@towson.edu asap to receive a link. This form needs to be submitted by August 15th 2023 and students are encouraged to attend Office of Competitive Fellowships and Award’s Zoom information session on June 30th or July 1st at 11 AM.
- Department of Defense (DoD) Scholarship-for-Service Program: The SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program is a combined educational and workforce development opportunity for STEM students. SMART offers scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students pursuing a STEM degree. Scholarship recipients receive full tuition, annual stipends, internships, and guaranteed employment with the Department of Defense after graduation.
