Please join Dr. Wendy Nelson, Associate Professor as she presents, “Chasing Lava by Land, Air, and Sea”.  Dr. Nelson’s sabbatical talk will share highlights of the field work associated with three distinct research projects investigating past tectonic environments on the Earth as well as Mars. Field sites look at lava material erupted on land (Kenya), blown by the wind (Hawaii), and blanketing the seafloor (southern Atlantic Ocean).
