Zero Waste Drop Off Drive

Does your off-campus residence not offer recycling or compost collection? Join the Campus Race to Zero Waste by bringing your single-stream recyclable and compostable items to campus during the Zero Waste Drop Off Drive!

From Monday, Feb. 13 to Friday, Feb. 24, students, faculty, and staff are invited to bring their recyclable and compostable items to campus for proper disposal.

Drop off locations:

  • Towsontown Garage (near the bridge to CLA)
  •  Union Garage (near the first-floor exit)
  •  Lot 11 (end closest to the towers)
  • Lot 4 (near stairs)

Accepted items include paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, rigid plastics, glass, food scraps, and compostable packaging. If you’re not sure if an item is compostable, recyclable, or trash, use our new digital waste directory, Know Before You Throw. Simply type in any item and the tool will tell the proper waste stream.

Please do not bring your trash and other specialty items for recycling to these drop off locations. This includes plastic bags and other plastic film.

Scan the QR code at the drop off sites to participate in a survey!

The Campus Race to Zero Waste is a national waste reduction competition sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation. The competition runs from January 31 through March 25.

Email sustainability@towson.edu if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
