Students: Here’s how to get technology help and find resources

Need technology help? Stop by the Student Computing Services Tech Services desk on the third floor in Cook Library’s Academic Commons for walk-up help. See and bookmark all support options including chat, call and text.
- Get general technology and ResNet support or get help with fixing laptop software.
- Access multimedia equipment including 3D printing, VR, equipment loans and studios in the Student Multimedia Lab in Cook Library 35.
- Contact TU’s Blackboard team if you need help using Blackboard.
- Report Wi-Fi issues at towson.edu/reportwifi, see quick troubleshooting fixes at towson.edu/fixwifi.
- Request tech support, search the knowledge base, ask a question or provide feedback on TU’s technology topics through the TechHelp online system.
- Access TU’s remote technology resources or general technology self-help resources.
- Bookmark Student Technology Orientation for info on using NetIDs, accessing email, registration and records, where and how to print, logging into courses in Blackboard, storing files, accessing Wi-Fi, using OneCard and other important TU technology topics.
Read about this important upcoming change to email, calendar and file storage
- Student email, calendar and file storage accounts are moving from Google to Microsoft 365. You can opt-in to move early (on Feb. 10, March 3 or April 7) or be moved automatically after the spring term ends
- It’s recommended to use Microsoft OneDrive, which is available now for file storage and sharing.

Stay cybersafe
- Use extreme caution with email – phishing attacks remain a top threat. Forward suspicious email to phishing@towson.edu, then delete.
- Be aware of job posting phishing scams asking for W2 forms, and direct deposit forms or asking you to transfer money using gift cards. See an example of a job scam.
