TU Culture and Psychology: Austria and Hungary from a Psychological Perspective Study Abroad Opportunity
Study psychology in Austria and Hungary during Summer 2023! You will travel to Vienna, Austria, the birthplace of psychotherapy and home to pioneering work from influential psychologists such as Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, and Viktor Frankl, and Budapest, Hungary.
This program aims to provide a comparative examination of the values, ideas, and practical applications of psychology in the United States and Austria and Hungary. During this 6 credit program, we will seek to understand human behavior and cognitive processes through the exploration of psychological theories, their application in the real-world, and how they are shaped by cultural variation. Students will observe psychological concepts first-hand through interactions with local residents, scholars and students from local universities, employees from local organizations, and guest lectures related to the local culture of Austria and Hungary.
Participants will take PSYC 494 Travel and Study Abroad in Psychology (3 credits) and PSYC 470 Special Topics in Psychology for a total of 6 credits with Dr. Blaire Weidler and Dr. Faizian Imtiaz.
Full program details and the application are available in Horizons.
For more information, contact Dr. Weidler or Dr. Imtiaz by email. You can also contact the TU Study Abroad & Away Office by email, by calling 410-704-2451, or by online chat at towson.edu/abroad.
