Winter Break 2022 Timesheets
Winter Break 2022 – Regular Non-Exempt Staff
Towson University will be closed for winter break from December 23, 2022 through January 2, 2023.
- Holidays will pre-populate on the time sheet for December 26, December 27, and January 2.
- December 23 State Holiday – staff will need to populate their timesheet with HLUSE. If you were not scheduled to work on this date, you will leave the day blank.
Staff in departments which observe non-traditional work hours and schedules, or which perform essential functions (24/7 operations), should discuss coverage with their supervisors.
Below is helpful information to assist you with completing your time sheet and a sample time sheet to use as a guide for the winter break.
- Days on which work is performed, record the leave code REG and the hours for the day. If you use other leave during this time, record it on the time sheet.
- You must be in an active, paid status to earn any of the holidays below.
- Floating holidays (HLUSE) are typically used for December 28, 29, and 30.
- If floating holidays are not available, accrued annual leave (ALUSE), accrued comp time (CMPUS), personal leave (PLUSE) or leave without pay (LWOPU) should be used.
- Holiday hours are pro-rated based on an employee’s FTE. If an employee does not normally work on a day in which a holiday falls, the employee will need to remove the hours from that day and leave the time blank.

Towson University will be closed for winter break from December 23, 2022 through January 2, 2023.

You must be in an active, paid status to earn any of the holidays. If you perform work on a particular day, record the leave code REG and the hours for the day. If you use other leave during this time, record it on the time sheet.
Use leave code ADHLF to record holiday leave.
Winter Break 2022 – Contingent II Exempt Staff
Towson University will be closed for winter break from December 23, 2022 through January 2, 2023.
Staff in departments which observe non-traditional work hours and schedules, or which perform essential functions, should discuss coverage with their supervisors.

- Use pay code HLCTE on December 23, 26, & 27.
- If an employee does not normally work on a day in which a holiday falls, the employee will need to remove the hours from that day and leave the day blank.
- Holiday hours are pro-rated based on an employee’s FTE.
- Days that are not designated holidays, December 28, 29, & 30, and on which no work is performed, accrued annual leave (ALCTE) or remaining accrued holiday leave (HLCTE) may be used. If the employee does not have accrued leave, leave without pay (LWOPC) should be used.

Winter Break 2022 – Contingent Lecturers
Towson University will be closed for winter break from December 23, 2022 through January 2, 2023.
Since there is no holiday leave code for Contingent Lecturers, the employee will record REG time for each day of Winter Break. If you perform work on a particular day, record the leave code REG and the hours for the day.
In the comment section of the REG leave codes for December 23, 2022 through December 30, 2022, please indicate “Winter Break” in the corresponding comment section.
