Faculty/Staff: Here’s how to access technology resources and get support during the semester
The Office of Technology Services (OTS) provides the campus with technology support. Bookmark these links for quick access throughout the semester.
How to get technology help
- General: OTS’ Faculty/Staff Help Center, chat or call 410-704-5151. “Walk-in help” available.
- Blackboard: TU’s Blackboard team.
- Online: through the new TechHelp.
- Classroom Technology at 4-TECH (410-704-8324), chat or self-support.
- 24/7: access technology self-help resources and staff resources for working remotely.
Tech topics & resources
- Over the summer, TechHelp was updated to a new, easy-to-use and modern online service request system. It’s still accessed through towson.edu. Follow the project, including the upcoming launch of the Knowledge Base, at towson.edu/techhelp.
- Report suspicious email: forward it to phishing@towson.edu from any device or use the “report phish” button in Outlook.
- Let us know about Wi-Fi issues at towson.edu/reportwifi and see quick troubleshooting fixes at towson.edu/fixwifi.
- Faculty/Staff can expect online Security Awareness training to be delivered to their TU in box this semester.
- Blackboard is transitioning to Blackboard Ultra in Fall 2024. Visit our Ultra Course organization site to register for the self-paced 14-week asynchronous course, plus get support and one-on-one training from a TU Blackboard Administrator. Bookmark the site for updates, resources and to register for upcoming workshops including a synchronous session option.
- Faculty can get support for multimedia (3D printing, VR, equipment loans and studios) use in student assignments from Classroom and Computer Lab Technology. Learn more about how to use these services.
- Get free or discounted software.
