Participate in TU East Meets West: Exploring California’s Classrooms during Minimester 2023
Ever wonder what life is like for public school students and teachers on the California coast? What about the curriculum, the school structures, migrant students, and English Language Learners? Get out of the cold and join us for a dynamic learning experience in warm and sunny San Diego, California in January 2023!
Participants will have the opportunity to explore the lives of adolescents in the region, visit schools, meet with teachers, and more. Come back to Maryland equipped with knowledge of our diverse U.S. school system. Program highlights include a San Diego graffiti tour, visits to universities, and excursions to La Jolla and Coronado Island.
Participants will choose to take either SCED 200 Foundations of Education (3 credits) or SCED 305 Adolescent Learning, Development, and Diversity (3 credits) with Dr. Molly Mee.
Full program details and the application are available in Horizons.
