TU Exploring Cross-Cultural Education and Social Services in Baltimore and Israel
Travel to Israel in Minimester 2023 with Towson University professor Dr. Hana Bor. Explore culture and service in Israel. Learn how Israel has developed schools and social services at national and local levels and how they have put policies and educational pedagogies to practice in urban area such as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv; in small communities in the Negev; and in Baltimore’s sister city, Ashkelon.
This program will travel within Israel and provide students with the opportunity to meet Israelis from many cultures along with teachers, human and social service providers, students and administrators. After the program returns from Israel, additional mandatory group meetings in Towson will commence in order to provide the opportunity for reflection and comparative study.
Participants will choose to take either FMST 370 Special Topics in Family Studies (3 credits) or FMST 570 Special Topics in Family Studies (3 credits; grad only) with Dr. Hana Bor.
Full program details and the application are available in Horizons.
