Tomorrow: Juneteenth Art & STEM Showcase in the Science Complex
Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans.
It is also often observed to celebrate African American culture. Art and Stem have always been a part of the African American Culture. From Bessie Coleman, Maya Angelou or Jean-Michel Basquiat.
TU’s Black Faculty and Staff Association, in collaboration with the College Of Fine Arts and Communications and the Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics, is presenting the Art and STEM Showcase in celebration of the Arts and Sciences, which focuses on building, bridging and strengthening Art and STEM connections in African American communities.
It also aims to recognize TU Faculty, Staff, Students and Alumni who have made contributions to Art and STEM fields.
There will be tours of the Science Complex, a presentation and food will be served.
