Dialogue@TU Faculty & Staff Facilitator Training Session Level 1 * * Virtual * *

The next Dialogue@TU Level One Training for Faculty and Staff members will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m on Friday, June 24. The training will be held virtually with a Zoom link sent upon registration.

Dialogue@TU provides opportunities for the entire campus to learn the theory and practice of Dialogue as a useful skill in navigating frank discussions about our identities and social justice.

This level of the three-part training will cover the goals of Dialogue, the most recent Dialogue research, including the process and benefits, the nuances of Dialogue, discussion, debate, diatribe and intensive training connected to the co-facilitation process.

Join the Assistant Provost for Diversity and Inclusion, Dr. Iona Johnson, and the Assistant Director of Diversity Training and Educational Initiatives (OIIE), Brian Jara, for these sessions, which will provide:

  • a greater understanding of how different dialogue approaches (including sustained and intergroup) can foster awareness and interaction between members of two or more distinct groups;
  • strategies for managing difficult conversations, including race, social identity and other divisive topics;
  • and tools to facilitate dialogues with students in college courses or with colleagues sharing office environments.

Space is limited. Register here
