Student Research in the Summer: TIGURS program
The goal of the this newly established program is to engage students at the end of their freshman year at Towson University. The program is accessible to all majors at TU and is built around a common theme that can be addressed by a variety of disciplines and methods.
A team of faculty members from the sciences, humanities, and social sciences will lead students through seminars in qualitative research, collaborative design, and human-computer interaction. The program will run from July 5 to August 5, 2022. The program will provide housing, meals, and $3,000 stipend to the students.
Faculty and students will then partner with community collaborators in a series of workshops focused on the collaborative design of digital applications serving community needs. Student participants will develop skills in qualitative research, multimedia production, human-computer interaction, and collaborative design, while at the same time building networks with communities in Baltimore.
Students interested in the program should fill out the Application Form for the TIGURS program by April 4, 2022. All questions about the program should be directed to ourci@towson.edu
