Earn Your Core 7 Lab Science in Puerto Rico!

The deadline to apply to take your Core 7 lab science is March 15! If you are planning to study Introductory Biology in the Caribbean this summer, please be sure to join Drs. Faith Weeks and Alondra Diaz as they explain the program in detail today at noon in the Science Complex, room 3131. If you can’t make it today, they will host another session on Thursday, March 10th at 6pm in the same location.

As a student on the program, you will:

  • explore unique ecosystems and interact with local plants and animals in Puerto Rico;
  • learn about ecology, evolution, genetics, and the scientific process;
  • conduct authentic research while hiking in a cloud forest and kayaking a bioluminescent bay;
  • discover La Parguera mangroves and El Yunque National Forest;
  • take both BIOL 120 Principles of Biology – Lecture (3 credits) and BIOL 120L Principles of Biology – Lab (1 credit) to fulfill a Core 7 requirement.
