Summer 2022 Study Away in Puerto Rico – Core 7

Study Introduction to Biology in the Caribbean in Summer 2022.

Have you heard about TU’s study away programs yet? Did you know that you can fulfill your Core 7 lab science requirement and study introductory biology in the Caribbean this summer? Drs. Faith Weeks and Alondra Diaz will explain the program to Puerto Rico in detail in these upcoming information sessions in the Science Complex, room 3131:

Tuesday, February 22nd at 6pm
Monday, February 28th at 6pm
Friday, March 4th at 12pm
Thursday, March 10th at 6pm

As a student on the program, you will:

  • explore unique ecosystems and interact with local plants and animals in Puerto Rico;
  • learn about ecology, evolution, genetics, and the scientific process;
  • conduct authentic research while hiking in a cloud forest and kayaking a bioluminescent bay;
  • discover La Parguera mangroves and El Yunque National Forest;
  • take both BIOL 120 Principles of Biology – Lecture (3 credits) and BIOL 120L Principles of Biology – Lab (1 credit) to fulfill a Core 7 requirement.
