Spring 2022 Move-In – Updated

There is always excitement in the air with the coming of a new semester.  The spring 2022 semester is on its way; accordingly, there will also be an increase in pedestrian traffic near and around the residence halls as students move in.  Towson University would like your help to ensure a safe experience, so please be aware of the following guidelines to help provide a safe and smooth spring move-in.

Official Spring Move-In days – Saturday, Jan. 29 and Sunday, Jan. 30 (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

– Parking permits are not required on official Spring Move-In days.

– On official “move-in” days, the University will arrange to allow students close access to housing locations in order to unload.

During Move-In:

– Please follow the direction of posted signs as well as staff in order to access unloading locations.

– Once directed to an unloading area by on-post staff, please immediately unload your items to the grass and sidewalk areas.  Do not leave your vehicle unattended – A driver must remain with the vehicle at all times while unloading.

– As soon as your belongings are unloaded from the vehicle, please move your vehicle to a legal parking area in one of the garages.  If you have purchased a resident parking permit, please park in the resident area where your permit is valid.

– Designated “move-in” spaces will be located near each residence hall through the first week of class.

-During the first week of class, vehicles may only be parked in “Move-In” spaces for a maximum of 30 minutes.  A parking permit is not required while parked in a “move-in” space; however, once vehicles are unloaded, vehicles must be moved to a legal core, overflow, or resident space, based on the individual’s permit type.

During unofficial move-in dates, vehicles will need to be parked in a legal space and have a valid TU parking permit.  Visitor parking permits can be obtained at campus pay stations using the “Pay by Plate” option or accessing the Park Mobile app. Go to maps to locate all available visitor parking areas.  For the safety of our campus community, illegally parked vehicles may be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.

Your cooperation is appreciated. If you have further questions, visit the Parking & Transportation Services website or contact us at 410-704-PARK or upark@towson.edu.
