Updates on Parking Assignments and Changes for Fall 2021
Welcome Back Tigers! As the TU community of students, faculty and staff head back to campus, Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) wants you to be prepared. There are a few things you should know about parking updates on campus for the fall 2021 academic term.
New Parking Assignments and Changes
- The ground level of Union Garage has been converted from Faculty/Staff spaces to General Visitor and Department Guest spaces.
- Faculty/Staff spaces will be available starting on the ramp and going to the 2nd level of the Union Garage.
- The former Resident Lot 7 in Towsontown Garage and Resident Lot 26 (now Lot 11) near Glen Towers have been converted to “Core” commuter spaces.
- Resident Parking will only be located at 10 West and West Village Garage. If all resident parking is sold out, then Overflow permits will be available for purchase for Stadium Lot areas as needed.
- With the exception of 10 West residents, all residents will be assigned parking in the West Village Garage while spaces are available.
- In an effort to support the Tigers Care health initiative, the entire ground level of West Village Garage will be closed to parking for the fall 2021 term and may extend into the spring 2022 term.
- Visitor parking will continue to be available in the 3rd level of West Village Garage.
- Faculty/Staff spaces will be relocated to the 3rd level of the West Village Garage
- Overflow parking will not be available in West Village Garage for the fall 2021 term and may extend into spring 2022 term.
- Please continue to monitor TU Today announcements and parking website for further updates.
As a reminder, for the safety of the campus community and shuttle passengers, bus slips will be strictly enforced—only buses are permitted in slips. All other vehicles parked or stopped in bus slips, including TU vehicles, will be cited and/or towed.
Convenient areas for immediate pick-up and drop-off of passengers (Pick-Up/Drop-Off Zones) are located on the 3rd level of the West Village Garage. Drivers must remain with the vehicle in these areas. There are also free 5 minute and 20-minute parking spaces around campus. Please consult a campus map for more details.
As always, please carefully read all parking signs to ensure that you are parking in a valid location for your permit type. A valid TU permit is required year-round to park on campus from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.
