To be eligible for a Gilman Scholarship, an applicant must:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be an undergraduate student
- Receive the Federal Pell Grant
- Apply for a program of at least 3 consecutive weeks overseas in a country(ies) with an overall Travel Advisory Level 1 or 2
- Not have previously received and accepted the Gilman Scholarship
Gilman offers scholarships of up to $5,000 with supplemental awards of up to $3,000 available for applicants who are studying a critical need language.
