EV Charging Station Installations are Happening!
Are you ready for new EV charging stations? The time has come TU! Charging station installation will begin this week and continue throughout March 2021. Two additional dual port charging stations will be added on campus, increasing the total amount of dedicated vehicle charging spaces to 40.
Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is asking our TU community to be patient as installations happen campus-wide. Over the next few weeks, you will notice certain areas in the garages/parking lots that are blocked-off for installation. Please do not park in spaces that are blocked off and read all signage before parking.
The new EV units will serve two vehicles and are dual port Level II chargers equipped with 220V charging cables making it unnecessary for users to bring their own cable. This is an exciting and long-awaited installation, so we encourage you to get updates on where installations are occurring and on the progress of the installation on the PTS Twitter page (@GetAroundTU).
We appreciate your patience with the delay we have experienced due to the impact of COVID. With this upgrade of the EV chargers, Parking & Transportation Services is excited to be able to continue supporting the university sustainability initiatives. For more information about our sustainable transportation programs, please visit the PTS website. For additional questions, please contact Parking & Transportation Services at upark@towson.edu.
