Participate in an NEH Summer Seminar or Institute for Higher Education Faculty
Application Deadline: March 1, 2021
The 2021 Summer Seminars and Institutes are 1- to 4-week virtual programs that support collegial study of significant topics in the humanities and make use of important scholarship and primary resources such as archival documents, artifacts, or historic sites.
Typically, participants develop a scholarly and/or pedagogical project based on the topic. Programs take place throughout the United States, and participant stipends help cover travel and living expenses.
This year’s programs include new perspectives on visual culture from the Civil War Era and the global patterns of empire and decolonization through the lens of radio and sound technology. If you’re interested in literature, dive deeper into the works of Zora Neale Hurston or explore the history, politics, and legacy of the New Deal Federal Writers’ Project.
For a complete list of the seminars and institutes offered this summer, along with eligibility and application requirements, please visit the NEH website.
