Blackboard maintenance reminder: moving to the cloud at end of the semester
As originally communicated on November 18, Blackboard Learn is moving to the cloud at the end of the fall 2020 semester. This will allow for future updates without any downtime.
What to expect
- Timing: Blackboard will be unavailable 12:01 a.m. on Friday, December 18 – Wednesday, December 23. This timing was chosen to minimize interruption based on the university’s academic calendar dates. When maintenance is complete, posts will be made to the OTS Alerts website http://alerts.towson.edu and twitter @OTSAlerts.
- Grades/Course Content: all grades should have been submitted in Blackboard before the start of this maintenance, but make sure they’re done prior December 18 to avoid a delay in final grades. You will be able to update them in PeopleSoft during this maintenance. Also, consider this timing if you’re working Minimester or spring semester content.
- Actions needed: No additional training or actions are needed, and there won’t be any change in appearance of your Blackboard courses.
If you have any questions, please contact blackboard@towson.edu.
