Nominate a TU staff member for their outstanding contributions this year

Recognition of staff making a difference on our campus and in our community is important at TU.  This year, given some of the challenges we have overcome as a community, it’s especially meaningful to honor outstanding staff contributions.

We are currently seeking nominations in 5 different categories to recognize TU staff during the past year. Categories include:

  1. Exceptional contribution to the institution and/or unit to which the person belongs
  2. Outstanding service to students in an academic or residential environment
  3. Extraordinary public service to the university or greater community
  4. Effectiveness and efficiency
  5. Inclusion, multiculturalism, and social justice

A single TU winner from each category will be selected from nominations submitted. TU winners who have more than 5 consecutive years of service will also be eligible to compete for the prestigious annual University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents (BOR) awards.

In addition to being recognized as one of TU’s exceptional staff members, TU winners in each category will be personally recognized by President Schatzel and honored with a $1,000 stipend. The Board of Regents will grant an additional $2,000 to any winner of a USM Board of Regents Award.

To nominate a colleague or yourself, complete the nomination form found on the Towson University Staff Senate (TUSS) website. All nominations must be submitted to Deniz Erman (derman@towson.edu) by November 16. Completed nominations must include a nomination letter, position description of the nominee, and at least one letter of recommendation.

More information on the awards, including detailed eligibility requirements, can be found on the Staff Senate website.
