Security updates coming to Zoom in September: what you need to know
As originally communicated in a September 2 email from TUPD, to provide better security for TU’s Zoom meetings and class sessions, these updates are being implemented:
- September 25: Logging in through Single Sign On (SSO) will be required. SSO should display and prompt login when accessing your TU Zoom account. Make sure you can login using SSO now, before it’s required. Sign in at zoom.towson.edu and download the Zoom desktop or mobile app. Be sure to “Sign In with SSO” when prompted.”
- September 27: Zoom is requiring that all meetings have a Passcode or Waiting Room. Zoom will enable a Waiting Room for meetings that do not have either security option set by September 27. For more details, including how to enable a Passcode or Waiting Room for an existing meeting, or how to customize your Waiting Room to allow TU account holders to bypass and directly enter the meeting, see Zoom’s FAQ document.
