Shuttle Service & Safety
On and off-campus shuttles are operating for the fall 2020 term with a few modifications. Shuttles will have limited seating to enable physical distancing, and guests will not be permitted to ride off-campus shuttles. Here’s what else to know about shuttle service this fall:
Assistance with Parking & Transportation Services
Parking staff members are available to help via phone, web chat, email and virtual appointment. Voicemail will be returned within two business days. Visit towson.edu/parking for a full list of contact information. Our office is not accepting in-person visits.
Shuttle Routes
Beginning Tuesday, Sept 8, both on-campus and off-campus shuttle service will resume with a few modifications:
On-Campus Routes
- The Black Route will operate from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday
- The Gold Route will operate from 7 a.m. – 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 5 p.m. – 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday
- Safe Ride will be available from 2:30 a.m. – 7 a.m. daily
- Paratransit services are available anytime shuttles are running
Off Campus Routes
- Daytime service is available weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. All routes and stops including Timonium and Rogers Forge will be served on a set schedule.
- Evening Service is available weekdays from 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. All routes will be serviced, with some routes combined during the evening hours.
- Tiger-in-Town will operate Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
- CDX will be suspended until further notice.
- Residents who need access to grocery stores and pharmacies should utilize existing off-campus routes. The dedicated grocery shuttle will end September 4.
Shuttle Safety
- In accordance with CDC guidelines, each shuttle will have a limited number of passengers allowed.
- Riders must wear a mask over the nose and mouth area.
- Only TU students, faculty and staff may ride off-campus shuttle buses during the fall term.
- Riders will swipe their OneCard to board on and off-campus shuttles. If you are unable to present your OneCard, you will need to provide your name, TU ID number and contact email for contact tracing purposes.
- SafeRide and SafeWalk services will remain available seven days a week. For more information visit towson.edu/parking/shuttle/saferide.html
Schedules & Planning
- Riders should allow extra time for shuttles in light of safety-related passenger limits. Shuttle schedules can be found online in the Transportation section of the PTS website or at TUTigerride.com. You can also download the TU Ride app from Google Play or the App Store for real time predictions and other shuttle information.
- Sign up for text alerts from the TU Ride app for up-to-date operating information for TU Shuttle schedules and routes.
