Parking Updates

Please be aware of the following parking updates in light of TU’s shift to a 95% remote modality:

Refunds

The parking office is emailing all plan/permit holders to offer to continue their plans. If plan holders do not respond within a week of the email, your permit will automatically be canceled and you will receive a full refund. If you need to keep your fall 2020 permit, you must email UPARK@towson.edu by noon on Thursday September 10, 2020. The email’s subject line should be “Do Not Cancel Fall 2020.” Please include your name & TU ID number. No further action will be required and your permit will remain active.

Parking Rates & Enforcement

  • Permits will be required to park on campus throughout the fall term. TU will resume regular enforcement starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 8.
  • Faculty, staff, commuter students and visitors will receive a 50% discount, while resident students will receive a 20% discount for fall 2020 term parking rates.
  • In an effort to give options to those who will only need to park occasionally, daily permits will be available that allow students, faculty and staff to park in their designated spaces. Daily permits will be 50% the regular visitor rate.  For more details see our Daily Permit Info and Instruction guide.
  • As a result of decreased campus density and to provide close access for all commuter students, “Overflow” permits will be accepted in “Core” student spaces on the main campus throughout the fall term.  Look for the signs designating “Core” spaces and have the green graphic on the bottom of the sign.
  • Spring 2021 parking rates are still being determined and will be posted later this fall.

New Parking Lot Signs

  • Look for new colorful parking signs in all garages and lots making it easier to identify where to park. Examples of the new signs are available on the Parking & Transportation Services website
  • Parking surface lots have been renumbered. For a list of all the new numbers, go to towson.edu/parking.
  • To support the Tigers Care health initiative and academic classes and programming, some garage areas and lots may be closed for the fall 2020 term. This includes the ground level of West Village Garage and sections of the Towsontown and Union Garages.  For safety, please do not enter areas that have been closed.
