Visit the Updated Faculty & Staff Recognition Webpage
The Faculty and Staff Annual Recognition Event scheduled for this past April at the SECU Arena was one of the many campus events that were postponed or canceled following the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and in compliance with the Governor’s directive on public gatherings. Despite several attempts to reschedule, the continued challenges of the pandemic facing our campus community made it impossible to schedule an in-person event this year.
The annual event honors some of the many dedicated faculty and staff who contributed to the overall success of TU. Those scheduled to be recognized included:
- Faculty and staff who reached a service year milestone in calendar year 2019
- Faculty and staff who retired in 2019
- USM faculty and staff winners of the USM Board of Regents Awards
- TU winners nominated for the USM Board of Regents Awards
- Individuals and department winners of a University Diversity and Inclusion Award
As this moment requires some physical distance between us, we are not able to gather to recognize and celebrate our colleagues, co-workers, and friends for their work and contributions to our TU community. Although we cannot be together, enjoying speeches, videos, and breakfast, we encourage everyone to visit the HR Faculty & Staff Recognition webpage dedicated to those listed above whose service and accomplishments are appreciated and valued, and make TU a great place to teach, work and learn. Especially highlighted is Dr. Richard Vatz, who reached a milestone of 45 years of service in 2019 and shares a special video message.
Thanks to all those who would have been personally honored, and thanks to all for your continued work and support during these unprecedented times.
