Experiencing Japan: Cultural and Economic Challenges in an Aging Society – Study Abroad in 2021
Summer 2020 study abroad may be suspended but we are optimistic that international travel will resume. The Study Abroad Office is looking ahead to next academic year and all of our exciting programs including our brand new program Experiencing Japan: Cultural and Economic Challenges in an Aging Society.
Immerse yourself in the unique culture and society of Japan. Learn about Japan’s demographic trends, economic challenges, and policy responses while exploring Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka. Cultural highlights include visits to Nagoya Castle, the Ghibli Museum, the Todoaiji Temple, and Nara Park to see the sacred deer. Led by Dr. Yongchen Zhao, the program offers students the option to earn three academic credits for either ECON 380 Topics in Economics or ASST 270 Special Topics in Asian Studies. More information is available at towson.edu/horizons.
Want to connect with us? Our Study Abroad group advising session sessions are held Monday through Friday at 2 PM via Blackboard Collaborate while the University operates remotely. The virtual group meeting tells you everything you need to know about the study abroad process. Questions? Email studyabroad@towson.edu.
