Performance Review Training
Beginning in March, supervisors will be contacted and tasked with completing performance reviews for their direct reports. The Office of Human Resources is offering several training sessions to support you in conducting these reviews effectively. There are two versions of training that are available:
Performance management. This 2.5 hour workshop will take a look at the entire performance management process, including giving feedback throughout the year, setting SMART goals, creating development plans, and conducting effective performance reviews. There will be time for role playing and practice writing goals, as well as for questions about any part of the process. This workshop is especially recommended for those new to supervising or who have not previously received formal training around these topics. These workshops take place on:
- Friday, March 6th 9:30am-12:00pm, AD 120
- Tuesday, March 10th 9:30am-12:00pm, AD 120
Effective Performance reviews. This 1.5 hour workshop will take an abbreviated approach to the above performance management workshop, and will focus on providing feedback, writing SMART goals, and conducting effective performance reviews. There will be time after the workshop for questions. This workshop is recommended for those who have more experience supervising, or for those who are unable to attend a longer session but would still like to learn more about these topics. These workshops will take place on:
- Wednesday, March 11th 2:00-3:30pm, AD 120
- Friday, March 13th 10am-11:30am, LA 3114
- Tuesday, March 17th 10am-11:30am, Cook Library 507
- Wednesday, March 18th 2:00pm-3:30pm, LA 3114
- Tuesday, March 24th 1pm-2:30pm (via WebEx)
