New EV Chargers Coming in Spring 2020
Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) would like to thank the TU community for its patience regarding the current EV charging stations on campus. PTS is aware that some of the EV chargers around campus are not functioning properly, and in some cases, not operational. This is due to the current EV chargers reaching the end of life cycle and limited ability to obtain parts and make repairs.
TU assures the campus community, as posted in a September 2019 TU Today announcement from our department, that PTS is in the process of acquiring new EV charging stations. The installation process will begin in mid to late March. All units are expected to be operational by the end of the spring 2020 term. The new units are dual port Level II chargers equipped with 220V charging cables so there will be no longer be any need to bring your own charging cable.
The TU green initiatives are extremely important to PTS; therefore, we look forward to providing this upgrade for a pivotal leap in continuing sustainability efforts. Once more information is available, PTS will announce it through TU Today. Updates will also be posted on Twitter (@GetAroundTU) as the official activation for the new EV charging stations approaches.
