Passing of Artemio “Art” Taguding
Artemio “Art” Taguding, ’76, beloved by scores of on-campus students for his dedication to Towson’s Department of Housing and Residence Life, died unexpectedly of natural causes Jan. 6 at his home in Middle River.
Art started his career as an Area Coordinator for the department in 1981 and became Assistant Director of Residence before serving as Director of Capital and Individual Support in the university’s Development Office from 1996 to 2000. He went on to hold other positions in higher education, government and private industry, becoming a trusted friend and adviser to many along the way.
Art leaves behind his wife of 33 years, the former Lori Strom, ’84, his family, large extended family and adopted Towson University “family” who grieve his loss.
A celebration of Art’s life will take place at 4 p.m. Jan. 24 at the university’s South Campus Pavilion. His obituary (https://tinyurl.com/wjzqmst) provides additional information about his life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Art’s name to the Mary Lee Farlow Outstanding Students Scholarship at Towson University, which Art helped establish. To give, visit towson.edu/giving.
