Haben Girma is Speaking at TU!
Please join us for our upcoming Disability Awareness Speaker Event featuring Haben Girma on Wednesday, October 23rd, 7pm, West Village Commons Ballrooms. Doors open at 6pm. The talk begins at 7pm, followed by book signing at 8pm.
The first Deafblind graduate from Harvard Law School, Haben Girma is an advocate for people with disabilities. President Obama named her a White House Champion of Change. She received the Helen Keller Achievement Award, and a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Haben believes disability is an opportunity for innovation. She travels the world teaching the benefits of choosing inclusion.
Her best-selling book Haben: The Deafblind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law has been featured in the New York Times, Oprah Magazine, People, The Wall Street Journal, and the Today Show.
