New Large Education Major Scholarship
The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) is accepting applications for a great new scholarship for Education majors.
- The scholarship award is equivalent to 100% of the annual tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board.
- The scholarship includes a Service Obligation that requires recipients to teach in low income public schools in Maryland. At least 50% of the students in the public school must be eligible for free or reduced price meals (FRPM). Undergraduate students must teach in these schools for 1 year for each year that they receive the scholarship and graduate students must teach in these schools for at least 2 years.
- Students who don’t fulfill these teaching requirements must repay all of these scholarship funds with interest.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria Include:
- Undergraduate or Graduate teaching majors
- Maryland residency
- Minimum 3.3 GPA

To apply, complete the Teaching Fellows for Maryland Scholarship Application. The deadline to submit the application and all required documentation is October 11, 2019. All applications and required documentation must be submitted directly to MHEC.
