Call for Volunteers: Girls in the Game
What is Girls in the Game?
- A non-profit organization that provides and promotes sports and fitness opportunities, nutrition and health education, and leadership development to enhance the overall health and well-being of girls ages 7-18.
What is required of volunteers?
- Volunteers serve as coaches who lead Health, Sports and Leadership After School Program for third through fifth grade girls in Baltimore public schools.
- A volunteer coach would be expected to complete the necessary training and commit to coaching once a week for 10 weeks throughout the semester at a local elementary school.
- Volunteers are provided with co-coaches, required equipment and curriculum packets.
Who can volunteer?
- Anyone with a positive attitude, high energy and a desire to work with youth.
- A background in coaching or participation in sports is not necessary.
