Nicole Vasanth Named Director of University Child Care Center
The College of Education is proud to announce that Nicole Vasanth has been named Director of the University Childcare Center – an on-campus nature and the arts educational program for children from two to five years old.
Nicole has been with the Child Care Center since 2002 and was appointed as Interim Director last November. As Director, she will supervise six lead teachers, ensure that all Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) requirements are met, and be the primary point-of-contact for families. She will also collaborate with the College of Education to explore and facilitate opportunities for faculty research and student involvement.
“Nicole stood out among a very strong applicant pool,” said Laurie Mullen, Dean of the College of Education. “Her passion and commitment for the University Child Care Center will serve the children and their families extremely well.”
Nicole is no stranger to campus: She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from TU and is currently working towards a master’s in Reading Education, also at Towson University.
