Faculty and staff: use these quick resources to improve cyberawareness
The Office of Information Security (OIS) reminds faculty and staff to be cyberaware, and offers these resources to better protect yourself and the campus:
Phishing
Get tips how to recognize and handle suspicious email at towson.edu/phishing. The start of the semester is prime time for phishing scams. The flurry of back-to-campus events, assignments and emails can be overwhelming, and the worry of missing something can lead to accidentally clicking through a phishing email.
Data Privacy
See how to properly collect, store, categorize, and handle confidential TU data at towson.edu/dataprivacy. The Office of Human Resources’ Confidentiality Agreement for handling data is emailed to your TU account through DocuSign, and is a required university document for all faculty and staff to sign. DocuSign is an online form that captures signatures, and is an approved university vendor.
Security Awareness Training
Learn more about being cyberaware and find out how to request training for your department at towson.edu/securityawareness.
