Traffic Advisory: paving on Towsontown Blvd mid-April through mid-May

The Department of Public Works has shared the following information about upcoming roadwork on Towsontown Boulevard:

The Department of Public Works will begin paving Towsontown Boulevard, from Charles Street to Bosley Avenue, during the week of April 15. The one-mile long project will take about four weeks to complete – a week of road milling and re-setting manholes and then two to three weeks for paving (depending on the weather).

The new surface will mark the completion of two years of work designed to improve traffic flow at the intersection of Towsontown Boulevard and Osler Drive. The Boulevard was widened at this juncture in 2017 to accommodate two west-bound left-turn lanes on Towsontown. A retaining wall was built in order to cut in a new lane. And traffic signals were re-configured to reflect the new flow.

During this final stage, crews will intermittently close lanes, but they expect to maintain the flow of traffic and note that everything will be completed before university and high school commencements in May.

Drivers should allow extra time to get to campus, and should consider using alternate routes such as Stevenson Lane. For more information regarding construction on & near to campus, go to www.towson.edu/construction.
